Is Bear Week clothing optional?

Some of it. The Bearadise pool parties and Bearadise Beach are men-only and clothing optional; the bars, the beach clubs and the street events are not. Each row in the schedule says what kind of event it is, so check the row before you pack.

Is Puerto Vallarta bear friendly?

It is the biggest bear scene in Mexico, and it runs all year, not just in January. The Zona Romántica has bear bars, a weekly Tummy Tuesday bar crawl from 5 to 7 PM, monthly pool parties, and three bear festivals a year: Bear Week in January, Bear Pride in May, and Bearsgiving over Thanksgiving weekend.

What is Beef Dip, and when is Beef Dip 2027?

Beef Dip is a bear week run by its own organizers, and in 2027 its published schedule runs January 24 to 31. Its events are listed in the schedule above alongside everyone else's. Tickets and passes for Beef Dip come from Beef Dip, not from us.

Do I need a week pass, or can I buy one event at a time?

Both exist. Mantamar sells a week pass for its beach club, and Beef Dip sells its own passes. Bearadise sells every event on its own, so you can buy Bearadise Beach or a single pool party without committing to a week. Mixing promoters across the ten days is normal and is what most people do.

Where should I stay for Bear Week?

In the Zona Romántica, the neighborhood south of the river. Nearly every event on this page is inside it or a short walk from it, the bars are on its streets, and the boat to Bearadise Beach leaves from Los Muertos Pier at its center. Book early: January is high season and the bear-owned hotels fill first.

How do I get to Bearadise Beach at Majahuitas?

By boat, and only by boat. The ticket includes the boat out from Los Muertos Pier, five hours on the beach with open bar and food, and the ride back to the Zona Romántica after dark. You do not need to arrange transport of your own.

What else is there to do in Puerto Vallarta during Bear Week?

The days between parties are the point of coming for the whole week. Los Muertos beach and its pier are in the middle of the Zona Romántica, the Malecón is a walk north along the water, and boats leave the pier daily for Yelapa and the beaches you cannot drive to. Tuesday is Tummy Tuesday, the weekly bar crawl, which is the easiest way to meet the local crowd. And the bars on the schedule open every night, not only the nights they host an event.
